Going international: A credit to Puntian Academy

A rare opportunity for excellent learning, to develop professional leadership and enhance commitment to social justice was gained by Fr Dodge Tabios, PA’s director.

He was chosen as Fellow-Elect to the International Fellowship Program (IFP) of the Ford Foundation based New York. He is privileged to study and had opted for Europe to pursue his scholarship in the next 3 years.

Recently, he finished a 9-week pre-academic training in Manila last October 3 to December 12, 2006. They were 37 young and socially committed Filipinos from the rural areas desiring to contribute rural development in the country.

The Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC) a partner of Ford Foundation facilitated the program. They stayed at the University of the Philippines Hotel, in Diliman, Q.C. and took courses with the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), the Philippine Social Science Center (PSSC) and the Statistics Research and Training Center of the National Statistics Office (NSO).

It was an intensive study but mind you it will be an added value for PA.

Fr Dodge’s experiences with PA were truly a contributory factor in being elected!! A great blessing!!!
